Introduction:

Our client, a well-established Asian based FMCG company, is now looking for a high calibre for the position of Senior Procurement Manager joining its Hong Kong team. The relevant job description is listed as below:

 

Purpose of the job: To be one of the category experts and result drivers in Procurement team to achieve all Procurement-related objectives of our Group company.  The job holder will take up an evitable role and demonstrate high-level of category knowledge, execution excellence and collaboration to support business growth. 

Responsibilities:

• Be the category expert on Raw Materials and leading to develop category procurement strategies, with a goal to deliver competitive cost and cash position for the company.
• Define and execute procurement tactics (negotiations, competitive bidding, e-Auctions or other) following aligned category strategy.
• Leverage external network and internal Market Insights team to keep up to speed with market and supply base movement, as well as competitive activities.
• Constantly initialize, progress, and drive strong results via savings projects.
• Meet or exceed expectations on results delivery, vs. previous year, budget and/or market competition.
• Absolute focus on striving for the best possible commercial, quality and service terms with suppliers, following defined procurement policies and procedures.
• Identify and introduce alternative suppliers for cost efficiency and business continuity planning. Undergoing efforts to reduce number of single sourced suppliers.
• Collaborate with multi-functions team to drive new raw materials innovation project launch and commercialization.
• Step up and manage the overall relationship with Raw materials suppliers.
• Ensure balanced material coverage via best total solution, liaise with Procurement team and Planning team in the plants to ensure supply security and operational excellence. 

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree
• At least 7 years working experience in related discipline with minimum 2 years working at management level; those with Hong Kong based company is preferred
• Extensive procurement management experiences in Food Ingredients for reputable companies.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to challenge status quo and thrive for better outcome.
• Non-negotiable high degree of integrity.
• Proficiency in spoken & written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin);
• Occasional business travel is required.
