Introduction:

Our client, a hedge fund domiciled in the Cayman Islands, is looking to hire a fund accountant for their team in Shanghai.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations for Cayman funds in accordance with accounting standards and investor requirements
2. Perform detailed fund reconciliations, including cash, investments, and fee accruals
3. Handle financial statements preparation, including management accounts and audited financials in liaison with external auditors
4. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions comply with fund documentation and regulatory standards
5. Support investor reporting and respond to investor queries regarding fund financials
6. Liaise with custodians, administrators, auditors, and other service providers to ensure smooth fund operations
7. Assist with tax reporting and regulatory filings for Cayman funds
8. Collaborate with the fund management team to ensure accurate and efficient financial record-keeping and reporting
9. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

1. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
2. Around 5 years of fund accounting experience, with direct exposure to Cayman Islands funds
3. Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP as applicable to investment funds
4. Proficient in fund administration platforms such as Investran, Geneva, eFront, or similar
5. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with high accuracy
7. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external parties
8. Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are preferred
9. Fluency in English
