Introduction:

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a high-performing engineering team, taking ownership of our existing mobile application and driving the development of new features and functionalities. The CTO will play a critical role in shaping our client's technology roadmap, ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of the platform, and contributing to our overall business success. The CTO will initially focus on taking over an existing outsourced mobile app, building an in-house team, and then enhancing the app with crypto and traditional finance trading capabilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Technology Leadership: Develop and articulate a clear technology vision and strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
2. Team Building & Management: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing in-house engineering team, including attracting talent from Mainland China/Shenzhen.
3. Mobile App Ownership: Take full ownership of our existing React Native mobile application, understanding the codebase, architecture, and infrastructure.
4. Platform Enhancement: Lead the development of new features and functionalities, including crypto and traditional (equities/bonds/FX) trading capabilities.
5. Architecture & Scalability: Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures to support future growth.
6. Security: Ensure the security of the platform and protect user data, implementing robust security measures and adhering to industry best practices.
7. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners.
8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the platform complies with all relevant regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
9. Fintech Expertise: Leverage deep understanding of the fintech landscape, including crypto trading platforms/exchanges, traditional finance trading platforms/exchanges, payment gateway integration, and CRM/client portal UI/UX.
10. Bank Integration: Oversee the integration of the platform with various banking partners.
11. Multi-Jurisdictional Setup: Apply knowledge of setting up fintech platforms across multiple jurisdictions and adhering to multiple regulatory frameworks.
12. Hands-on Contribution: While not a primary requirement, hands-on coding skills and a willingness to contribute to development efforts are a plus.

Requirements:

1. Extensive experience (10+ years) in a technology leadership role, preferably within the fintech industry.
2. Proven experience building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
3. Deep understanding of mobile application development, particularly with React Native and Java.
4. Significant experience with crypto trading platforms/exchanges and traditional finance (equities/bonds/FX) trading platforms/exchanges.
5. Experience with payment gateway integration, CRM systems, and client portal UI/UX.
6. Solid understanding of security best practices and regulatory requirements in the fintech industry.
7. Experience integrating with banks and other financial institutions.
8. Knowledge of setting up fintech platforms across multiple jurisdictions and adhering to multiple regulatory frameworks.
9. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
11. Experience developing apps from scratch is highly desirable.
