Introduction:

Our client, one of the world's leading owners and operators of modern bulk ships, is now looking for Data Scientist to join their team in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Data and Analytics Team Lead.
• Use data-driven methods to solve business problems.
• Examine raw data to find patterns, ensure data quality and create useful insights.
• Create and develop machine learning models to predict results and spot trends.
• Build, launch and maintain data products to improve business processes.
• Share findings and prepare reports for both technical and non-technical audiences, making sure the insights are clear and useful

Requirements:

• Degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience using Machine Learning techniques in a business setting.
• Practical experience with Python programming and SQL.
• Practical experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
• Strong understanding of probability and statistics, with the ability to think from first principles.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Experience in the shipping and/or transportation sector is a plus
