Assistant General Manager

Introduction:

Our client, a well-known general insurance broker in Hong Kong, is seeking a high-calibre candidate to take up the role of Assistant General Manager, based in Beijing, China.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and follow project plans and timelines to meet targets.
  • Work with various stakeholders, including Head Office and business units in China, to ensure smooth communication and project alignment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with current insurance partners and find new partners, including brokers and companies, in new regions.
  • Act as the main contact for JV partner, ensuring open and effective communication.
  • Work with the JV partner to find areas for improvement and make necessary changes to improve project results.
  • Identify potential business opportunities and create and implement strategic plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, with a major in Insurance being an advantage.
  • At least 8 to 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably with international brokers handling large corporate accounts.
  • In-depth knowledge of China insurance market, including regulations, key players and customer behaviour.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels within the company and with external business contacts.
  • Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
