Introduction:

Our client, a leader in producing eFuels (carbon-neutral fuels from green hydrogen and recycled CO2), is looking for a Vice President of Modular Execution (Modular Construction). This person will help develop and implement the company's modular execution strategy. They will oversee third-party contractors who build process modules for the eFuel projects. The role ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards, especially when working with Asian companies. The job holder will manage contractor relationships, track project milestones, and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Plant Modularization and Project Management

• Accountable for the strategic modularization of the e-Fuel plant designs, aiming to standardize and optimize engineering processes, reduce costs, and expedite construction timelines.
• Create an ecosystem of plants as a product to help reduce engineering costs through consistent modularization.
• Steward relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Accountable for ensuring that modular plant engineering is replicated across all regions/geographies at the most efficient and lowest cost
• Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks as necessary.
• Facilitate effective communication between contractors and internal teams.
• Optimize plant construction expenditures, effectively reducing CAPEX

Partnership Development

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with Asian fabrication companies, equipment suppliers, and contractors.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms and conditions.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between international and regional teams.

Contractor Supervision 

• Oversee and manage third-party contractors responsible for the modular construction of e-Fuels plants.
• Ensure contractors adhere to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and compliance.
• Ensure the final modular plant design is replicated in all geographies.

Quality and Safety Assurance

• Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain rigorous quality control and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Drive innovation in modular construction techniques.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of best practices and new technologies.
• Conduct market research and stay abreast of industry trends to inform strategic decisions.

Leadership and Team Development 

• Build expertise within development teams, technical professionals, and other stakeholders to achieve global standardization through plant modularization.
• Lead and mentor a team of project managers and construction professionals.
• Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more Asian languages is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in petrochemical construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience in supervising contractors and managing modular construction projects.
• Prior experience working with Asian companies and navigating cross-cultural business environments.
• PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
• Frequent travel to Asian module yards and other international locations as needed.
