Introduction:

Our client, one of the world's leading owners and operators of modern bulk ships, is now looking for Route Analyst, Meteorologist Hong Kong to join their team in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interpret weather patterns and see conditions using advanced forecasting tools.
• Provide real-time weather updates, route recommendations, and speed adjustments to optimize voyage efficiency and safety.
• Develop strategies to avoid adverse weather and optimize fuel consumption.
• Issue heavy weather warnings and coordinate with Ship Masters and Operations Teams.
• Collaborate with weather routing service providers for optimal routing and vessel safety.
• Analyse voyage performance data for improvement and cost savings.
• Integrate weather data into the voyage optimization system.
• Customize weather monitoring to meet operational needs.
• Provide training and support on weather systems and best practices.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to align on voyage optimization goals.
• Provide briefings and reports on weather conditions and their impact.
• Engage with external stakeholders to stay updated on marine meteorology advancements.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in marine meteorology, oceanography, or a related field, with a focus on maritime operations.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and weather forecasting models.
• Experience with voyage optimisation is preferable and to have an understanding of weather routing principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
