Introduction:

Group Financial Controller (Singapore, Malaysia & Cambodia) with manufacturing background Location: Senai, Johor Leading global textile and apparel manufacturing and supply chain manager, with significant operations across Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Group Financial Controller to oversee and strengthen the financial operations across our key regional entities. This pivotal role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, robust internal controls, and effective financial management across our Singapore headquarters, Malaysia textile mills, and Cambodia garment factories. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance professional with a strong background in multi-country operations, manufacturing, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Consolidation:

o Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements for the Group (Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia) in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., SFRS, IFRS).

o Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for all regional entities.

o Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements in each operating country.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:

o Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting for the Group.

o Provide insightful financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance commentaries to senior management and the Board.

o Identify key financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

o Establish, maintain, and enhance robust internal control systems across all entities to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

o Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies, local regulatory requirements, tax laws, and industry-specific compliance standards in Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia.

o Manage internal and external audits, coordinating with auditors and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

o Monitor and manage the Group's cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange exposure across the different regions.

o Optimize banking relationships and cash management strategies.

Team Leadership & Development:

o Lead, mentor, and develop the finance teams in Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

o Ensure proper segregation of duties and clear responsibilities within the finance function.

Operational Finance Support:

o Partner with operational heads in manufacturing (textile and garment) to understand business drivers, provide financial insights, and support operational efficiency initiatives.

o Oversee costing, inventory valuation, and production variances.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.

Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a similar Group Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role overseeing multi-country operations.

Extensive experience in the manufacturing sector (ideally textile/apparel) is essential.

Demonstrable experience managing financial operations in Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia is highly preferred. 

Candidates with strong multi-country Asia experience will be considered.

In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (SFRS/IFRS), tax regulations, and statutory compliance in the region.

Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and audit processes.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.

Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Highly analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
