Introduction:

Our client is a core business unit within a prominent, Asia-based conglomerate. It is now looking for a dynamic and internationally experienced Commercial Director to be based in Niseko, Japan, who will lead the strategic development of this landmark project.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international investors, businesses, and industry professionals to attract investment and business opportunities.
2. Negotiate partnerships with premium brands, F&B concepts, and entertainment operators to elevate Niseko’s appeal.
3. Work closely with architects, development teams and other departments to ensure designs and execution align with commercial objectives and long-term growth strategies
4. Act as a bridge between local insights and our global strategies
5. Act as an Ambassador to represent the company at networking functions in Japan, deliver presentations and communication our vision and goals effectively to diverse audiences.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
2. Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken) is a must.
3. Proven experience in business development (mixed-use, tourism, retail, F&B, or entertainment hubs), with a portfolio of completed projects.
4. Excellent presentation, communication and social skills
5. Strong understanding of the Japanese market and culture, with significant international experience
6. Ability to navigate complex business environments and foster partnership
