Introduction:

Our client, a well-established group in the real estate and hospitality industry, is seeking a meticulous and experienced accounting professional with strong General Ledger (GL) Accountant expertise.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts for a portfolio of intermediate holding and active operating entities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with Group policies and reporting standards.


  1. Oversee the full spectrum of GL activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing in accordance with Group accounting policies, SFRS, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Prepare and submit monthly financial and management reports to the Group consolidation system within stipulated timelines.
  3. Review and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  4. Review Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions for proper accounting treatment and reconciliation with the general ledger.
  5. Prepare monthly audit schedules and ensure timely clearing of balance sheet items and outstanding entries.
  6. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  7. Assist in the preparation and filing of financial statements in XBRL format.
  8. Support the year-end audit process, including preparing statutory accounts, handling audit queries, and liaising with external auditors.
  9. Participate in system enhancements, implementation projects, and perform user acceptance testing (UAT) as required.
  10. Ensure compliance with internal controls and support continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. Strong hands-on experience in General Ledger (GL) accounting and financial reporting.
  2. Solid understanding of SFRS, statutory reporting, and audit processes.
  3. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  4. Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with consolidation systems and XBRL filing is an advantage.
  5. Independent, proactive, and able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Preferred experience in real estate or hospitality, though candidates with relevant accounting backgrounds from other industries are welcome to apply
