Introduction:

Production Planner - Malaysia Textile Mill Location: Senai, Johor, Malaysia Department: Planning / Production Reports To: Production Planning Manager / Factory Manager Global leader in textile and apparel manufacturing and supply chain management, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team at our integrated Textile Mill in Senai, Johor, Malaysia. This crucial role will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules for knitting, dyeing, finishing, and printing operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization, timely order fulfillment, and seamless coordination across the mill to meet our demanding global production targets.

Responsibilities:

1. Production Scheduling:
2. Develop detailed production plans and schedules for various textile processes, including knitting, dyeing, finishing, and printing, aligning with sales orders, inventory levels, and customer delivery dates.
3. Optimize machine loading and capacity utilization to maximize efficiency and throughput.
4. Material & Resource Planning:
5. Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials (yarn, dyes, chemicals, etc.) to meet production needs.
6. Coordinate with department heads (Knitting, Dyeing, Printing, Finishing) to allocate labor and machine resources effectively.
7. Order Fulfillment & Expediting:
8. Monitor production progress against schedules, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
9. Expedite critical orders and adjust schedules as needed to meet urgent client requirements.
10. Data Analysis & Reporting:
11. Track and analyze production performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, efficiency rates, waste levels).
12. Prepare regular reports on production status, challenges, and forecasts for management.
13. System Optimization:
14. Utilize and optimize planning software and ERP systems to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.
15. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the planning function.
16. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
17. Serve as a key liaison between Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on production priorities and capacities.
18. Problem Solving:
19. Address production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns by collaborating with relevant departments to find timely resolutions.

Requirements:

Diploma/ High School in Textile Technology, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a Production Planner in a textile manufacturing environment is essential, specifically with exposure to knitting, dyeing, finishing, or printing processes.

Strong understanding of textile production workflows and machinery.

Proficiency in using production planning software and ERP systems (experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar is a strong plus).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration across departments.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing setting.
