Introduction:

Our client, one of the world’s leading container lessors; a wholly-owned subsidiary of a HK listed (PRC based) shipping group is urgently seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Manager - Legal Affairs.

Responsibilities:

• Providing strategic business legal advice to management on compliance and legal matters
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documents relating to all aspects of the company’s business
• Identify potential legal issues arising in business operation and providing legal solutions
• Supervise external lawyers to manage litigation or dispute resolution issues
• Liaise and work with external lawyers in financing and legal proceedings
• Conduct company secretarial tasks and manage such records
• Active participating in the legal aspects of different internal and external projects, including M&A projects, transactions etc.
• Review and update legal related policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer
• Working experience in shipping industry is a plus
• Minimum 10 years' in-house legal experience preferably with at least 3 years at managerial level
• Proven legal counseling experience in a business environment
• Overall broad legal knowledge
• Ability to develop legal strategies and objectives, and work independently
• Proficient in both spoken and written Mandarin, English and Cantonese
