Role Overview

Role to be base in Canada


As the Plant HR Manager, you lead all HR functions at the site level, supporting plant operations, driving teammate engagement, and aligning HR practices with corporate strategy. You shall be a key part of the site leadership team, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution across employee relations, safety, performance, and compliance.


HR Leadership & Strategy

  1. Serve as a strategic advisor to the Plant Manager
  2. Drive local HR initiatives aligned with corporate goals
  3. Build strong employee relations and a positive work culture
  4. Monitor and report on HR metrics and KPIs

Labour & Employee Relations

  1. Manage union relationships, including negotiations and grievances
  2. Ensure fair and consistent application of policies

Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E)

  1. Support plant safety initiatives and compliance
  2. Manage injury claims and promote a safety-first culture
  3. Act as liaison for regulatory visits

Recruitment & Talent Development

  1. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
  2. Identify training needs and develop training plans
  3. Support performance and succession planning (e.g., 9-box, development plans)

Compensation & Benefits

  1. Oversee local administration of total rewards programs
  2. Ensure competitive and compliant pay and benefits practices

Communication & Engagement

  1. Drive effective internal communications and engagement programs
  2. Support Workplace Practices System (WPS) and feedback initiatives


Requirements:

Bachelors degree in HR or related field; HR designation preferred

5+ years HR experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive

Unionized environment experience required is A MUST familiar with Canada Labour Law

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and performance tools preferred
