Introduction:
Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong
Responsibilities:
- Lead localization projects for automotive and new energy vehicle (NEV) components in Thailand, including AC/DC charging inlets, AC/DC charging connectors, high- and low-voltage wiring harnesses, charging guns, connectors, and related electrical components.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, milestones, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the entire product development cycle, from project initiation through mass production and product launch.
- Drive the APQP process, including project planning, design reviews, DFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan development, and PPAP documentation.
- Validate manufacturing processes during trial production, monitor process capability, identify production issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate product validation activities, including DV/PV testing, sample evaluation, process verification, PSW approval, MSA validation, traceability management, and process audits.
- Collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, engineering, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to define technical requirements and ensure successful project execution.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve technical and operational issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, prepare regular project status reports, and communicate milestones, risks, and action plans to management.
- Manage project costs, conduct product cost analysis, optimize manufacturing processes, and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other automotive quality standards.
- Lead supplier localization activities, including supplier qualification, process readiness assessment, capability evaluation, and local supply chain development.
- Organize project acceptance activities and ensure all deliverables meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project objectives before mass production.
- Coordinate localization strategy and implementation across departments, establish project priorities, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and summarize project performance and lessons learned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry involving wiring harnesses, plastic injection, metal stamping, machining, PCBA, connectors, or related manufacturing processes.
- At least 2 years of experience leading localization projects, APQP planning, or new product introduction (NPI) for locally sourced automotive components.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, and automotive core quality tools.
- Familiar with manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, metal stamping, machining, PCBA assembly, cable crimping, connector assembly, and automotive production systems.
- Experience with supplier development, supplier quality management (SQE), and local supply chain localization is highly preferred.
- Familiar with new supplier qualification, new component introduction, and localization implementation processes.
- Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong project management, leadership, communication, problem-solving, planning, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Able to communicate effectively in Thai and Chinese (spoken and written). English communication skills are an advantage.
- Experience in EV charging systems, connectors, wiring harnesses, or new energy vehicle components will be considered a strong advantage.
