Introduction:

Production Manager

Responsibilities:

-Lead and manage daily operations in both Assembly and Fabrication production units to ensure output, quality, and efficiency targets are met.

-Monitor and control production schedules in coordination with planning, engineering, and QA to meet customer delivery deadlines.

-Ensure effective line balancing, manpower planning, and resource optimization

-Supervise production line leaders, supervisors, and technicians to achieve performance KPIs.Lead new product development (NPD) and existing product technology upgrade initiatives. Develop detailed project plans and technical road maps to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.

-Serve as the core technical liaison, collaborating closely with CS, Production, Quality, and Planning departments to ensure seamless and efficient end-to-end processes from customer requirements to mass production.

-Deep understanding of the Product Lifecycle (PLC) and phase gate review processes. Exceptional project management and risk control capabilities, coupled with strong cost awareness and mass production feasibility analysis skills

-Establish, optimize, and maintain robust engineering design and development processes, Design Verification Test (DVT) procedures, and Engineering Change Notification (ECN) workflows to enhance engineering efficiency and standardization

-Guide teams in resolving complex technical challenges during product development, testing, and mass production, particularly in precision optical design, assembly and alignment, image quality analysis, thermodynamics, and tolerance analysis.

-Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and equipment requirements for the engineering department to ensure optimal resource utilization.

-Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities.

-Ensure compliance with internal quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949) and customer requirements.

-Oversee root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., 8D, 5Why) to address quality issues.

-Drive a zero-defect culture through preventive quality control and operator training.

-Proven track record successfully leading the end-to-end development and mass production of complex optical or opto-mechatronic products from concept to commercialization

-Support customer audits and production-related reporting.

-Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste


Requirements:

-Master's degree or higher in Optical Engineering, Precision Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.

-8+ years of experience in high-mix or precision manufacturing, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role managing both fabrication and assembly.

-Experience in optical components, medical devices, electronics, or high-precision part manufacturing is preferred.

-Familiarity with production KPIs, OEE, lean tools, and manufacturing systems (ERP/MES).

-Strong knowledge of quality standards: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949.

-Excellent leadership and team-building skills.

-Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written) for cross-functional and customer interaction.

-Proven ability to work under pressure, handle multiple production lines, and respond to urgent delivery needs
