Our client is regional top largest Marine / Shipping group that offers technical and commercial services to clients in the maritime industry.
Manage Vessel Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with ASL's HSSEQ System.
Vessel Maintenance & Projects: Plan, manage, and oversee vessel repairs, dry dockings, and conversions, ensuring completion within agreed budgets.
Performance Monitoring: Track vessel performance trends and implement necessary corrective actions to optimize operations.
Compliance & Emission Control: Collect, evaluate, and ensure compliance with emission control data from vessels, including obtaining approvals from relevant authorities (e.g., SEEMP, EEXI, CII).
Certification & Surveys: Monitor the status of class and statutory certifications, the condition of class, and arrange for necessary surveys, including flag state and Panama Canal certifications.
Vessel Inspections: Conduct at least two visits per year (both in port and during sailing), preparing detailed visit reports and ensuring the timely closure of any deficiencies identified.
Management Reporting: Prepare biannual, triannual, or quarterly reports, as agreed with each Principal, for review and approval by the General Manager.
Budget Control: Maintain strict control over the annual operating budget for each assigned vessel, ensuring financial discipline.
Financial Oversight: Review monthly cost control reports and approve monthly financial statements before submission to the Technical Manager for final review.
Crew & Staff Development: Actively participate in the training and development of new crew members and office staff joining ASL.
Support for Inspections & Audits: Assist in preparing for and participating in SIRE inspections and TMSA audits.
1. Must hold a Marine Engineer Class 1 (Chief Engineer Unlimited) Certificate.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tanker operations is mandatory.
3. At least 2 years of sea-going experience as a Chief Engineer on LPG or Oil tankers is required.
3. Previous experience working as a Technical Superintendent is preferred, particularly with tankers (LPG/Oil).
4. Must be hard-working and a strong team player
- Should possess excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be hands-on, demonstrating practical skills in technical management.
5. Ability to travel on short notice as required by operational demands.
6. Strong understanding of maritime safety regulations and compliance standards.
7. Proficient in risk assessment and accident investigation procedures.
8. Familiarity with budget management and cost control related to vessel operations.
9. Capability to liaise effectively with ship staff, including Chief Engineers and Master Mariners, to ensure smooth operations.
