Senior Procurement Engineer (Contract Manufacturing Group)

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Procurement Engineer to join our dynamic contract manufacturing group. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving cost efficiencies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and quality procurement of mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Sourcing & RFQ Management: Lead the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities, ensuring alignment with customer specifications or proposing viable alternatives to optimize cost and performance.
  2. Quote Leadership: Serve as the primary quote leader for assigned customers, taking full ownership of Bill of Materials (BOM) submission and accuracy.
  3. Cost Optimization & Alternative Sourcing: Spearhead initiatives for cost reduction and identify alternative sourcing opportunities for both new and existing projects, contributing directly to the company's profitability.
  4. Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, actively managing their performance across key metrics including Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Contract finalization.
  5. First Article Approval (FAI): Facilitate and oversee the First Article Approval process by liaising effectively with suppliers and internal departments to ensure compliance and quality.
  6. System Integration: Accurately set up and maintain approved parts and suppliers within our internal systems.
  7. Project Management: Drive procurement-related aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  8. Technical Interpretation: Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately to ensure precise procurement.
  9. Risk Management Contribution: Actively contribute to the company's risk management process, identifying and mitigating potential procurement-related risks.


Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering. Fresh graduates with a strong aptitude and relevant internship experience are welcome to apply.

System Knowledge: Prior experience with Oracle and/or SAP modules is highly preferred.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical/electronic components is preferred.

Industry Experience (Preferred): Experience and an established supplier base in sheet metal and machining are highly advantageous.
