Introduction:

The NPI Engineer is responsible for leading New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, developing production processes, and ensuring smooth project transitions from HQ to the Thailand facility. This role combines technical process development with shop-floor management, quality improvement, and skills training for the local Thai workforce to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

Responsibilities:

1. New Product Introduction (NPI) & Process Development

  1. Lead the local implementation of new projects transferred from HQ, including site layout, process route updates, and production standards.
  2. Develop and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and translate technical documents into Thai.
  3. Manage the project ramp-up phase (PDCA) to ensure production hits targets on schedule.
  4. Optimize process routes in collaboration with the Product Manager.

2. Production Monitoring & Data Analysis

  1. Track and analyze production KPIs, including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and scrap rates.
  2. Audit the shop floor to ensure adherence to production standards and report any anomalies immediately.
  3. Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) activities and production line optimization.

3. Quality Control & Problem Solving

  1. Handle product quality judgments and manage the disposal of non-conforming products.
  2. Lead investigations into customer complaints using tools like 8D, 5Why, and Fishbone diagrams.
  3. Implement defect improvement plans and conduct regular on-site inspections.

4. Leadership & Training

  1. Provide technical and skills training to Thai employees to improve workforce capability.
  2. Assist the Production Manager with daily operations, including attendance tracking and production reporting.
  3. Guide and assign tasks to production personnel on the floor.


Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Process or Production Engineering (Automotive industry experience is a plus).
  3. Technical Skills: * Familiar with injection molding, stamping, assembly, and packaging processes.
  4. Knowledge of ISO9001/IATF16949 quality management systems.
  5. Proficient in quality tools: 8D, 5Why, FMEA, SPC, and Control Plans.
  6. Language: Fluent in Thai (Verbal and Written). Basic English writing capability for reporting.
  7. Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to work in a production floor environment.
