Downstream Business Development Lead
- Downstream Growth and Development (DG&D) implements the Companys downstream growth strategy through the development of profitable investment opportunities, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and joint venture partnerships in the areas of integrated refining and petrochemicals, marketing, retail, lubricants, and other areas of the downstream business. DG&D identifies, evaluates, screens, reviews and recommends global business development opportunities such as mergers and acquisitions, and JV development projects, in line with the downstream strategy and in coordination with other Admin areas within the Downstream business.
- The TheDownstream Business Development Lead will be responsible for
- (i) screening and origination of potential investment opportunities in the areas of refining, petrochemicals, trading, retail business, logistics, storageand lubricants segments;
- (ii) executing approved transactions including initiation and management of due diligence, valuation, structuring and negotiations of proposed deals; and
- (iii) engaging and working constructively with internal corporate stakeholders, external advisors and prospective partners during the origination, transaction development and post-transaction setup & readiness phases.
- The candidate is expected to possess relevant technical and commercial experience to successfully execute investments with a strong strategic fit with the endorsed downstream growth strategy.
- The candidate will report to the Saudi Aramco DG&D Management and Business Development Consultants/Specialists on the status of individual projects as part of the organizations project portfolio.
Business Development Specialist
The Business Origination Specialist is a key member of New Business Developments Origination Group. This position requires bringing insights into various markets, not limited to any sector, to uncover business opportunities that would lead primarily to transactions like acquisitions, divestments and joint ventures with a global reach.
Your responsibilities will range from initial idea generation, concept development, leading, and conducting commercial feasibility studies culminating in the development of an initial business case. Upon receipt of managements buy-in and endorsement, you will engage with the identified partners to conduct detailed assessment and develop a robust business plan and the required diligence. The project will then seek managements approval for authority to negotiate with a selected partner and the developed opportunity will then be transferred to a Transaction Group for execution. To accomplish these tasks, you will be required to conduct internal and external assessments to reveal emerging trends that lead to new business opportunities and /or overcome current or anticipated commercial challenges. You must have a strong analytical background and demonstrated ability to convert raw data and information into actionable business intelligence to enable the identification of new business opportunities at their early stage. Your ability to develop an understanding of the financial, operating, technical, and strategic elements of identified opportunities across a wide range of industries is a key skill requirement for this position
You will be required to present new business ideas with a sufficient level of analysis to a review committee to advance them forward in the development process. Having obtained managements initial endorsement, you will then develop an initial business plan that includes objectives and strategic fit assessment; recommended strategy; industry structure, competitiveness, value chain, profitability, and attractiveness; market analysis; risk assessment; initial economic modeling with strategic sensitivity analysis; and, competitors analysis. In addition to providing leadership in strategic thinking and conducting in-depth analysis, you must also possess strong project management skills and experience leading large cross-functional development teams. You must also have strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior management
Strategy Planning Engineer
The Downstream Strategy & Planning Engineer will join the Investment & Portfolio Analysis Division in the Downstream Strategy and Capital Planning Department (DS&CP). DS&CP is responsible for the coordination (and development support) of all of SAOs Downstream Investment Plan and Strategy. It also provides quantitative input to SAOs Downstream Executive Committees, working in close co-operation with other Strategy & Capital Planning Divisions across the organization.
The Downstream Strategy & Planning Engineers primary role is to provide quantitative analysis and confirmation of SAOs Downstream Investment Planstrategic fit.
Responsibilities Dimensions
Provides techno-economic analysis on all different types of Downstream Opportunities. Mainly focusing on Refining / Petrochemicals integrated assets and their interaction with further downstream (Trading, Retail) hydrocarbon value chain segments.
Evaluates their fit with SAOsDownstream strategy.
Develops quantitative analysis on sustainability / ESG implications on SAOs DownstreamInvestment Plan. Of focus being both emissions & product carbon footprint evaluations
. Co-operates with all of Downstreams Business units and other corporate functions in establishing and updating appropriate investment analysis criteria.
Provides commercial and technical expertise in executing the downstream strategy, including appraisal of strategic options, identification of strategic tradeoffs and implementation plans.
