Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Introduction:

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Mechanical Manager to lead mechanical maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment, specifically in heavy industries. This role is crucial for ensuring production targets are met and operational efficiency is maintained, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong focus on preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and direct all mechanical maintenance operations to ensure the factory achieves production targets and adheres to planned schedules.
  2. Manage the mechanical maintenance section to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and adherence to maintenance plans and standards.
  3. Lead the planning, control, and execution of maintenance activities for machinery and equipment, ensuring continuous operational readiness.
  4. Manage and control spare parts inventory to ensure availability and cost-efficiency.
  5. Oversee the company's utility systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
  6. Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the quality management system to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
  7. Drive and participate actively in frontline maintenance, focusing on practical problem-solving and immediate issue resolution.
  8. Develop and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.
  9. Conduct on-site monitoring of operations, including occasional night shifts according to a duty roster (this is a temporary duty until maintenance staff are fully capable of self-management during off-hours/holidays).
  10. Lead the implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and maintenance management systems.
  11. Develop and enhance the skills and capabilities of subordinates through training and performance management.
  12. Supervise and monitor the maintenance engineering section's budget and expenditure to ensure effective financial management.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong advantage if experienced in heavy industries such as Cement, Steel, Sugar, or Animal Feed, as machinery is similar.
  4. Proven experience in managing mechanical maintenance, including maintenance planning, predictive maintenance, spare part management, and utility system oversight.
  5. Demonstrated hands-on experience in TPM implementation and maintenance management systems.
  6. Experience in managing and developing direct reports is highly valued.
