Introduction:

Our client is a global hedge fund with a decade of proprietary trading strategies across several major regions looking to hire a portfolio manager with a proven track record in commodities trading.

Responsibilities:

1. Compile and reconcile holdings within business segments, oversee brokerage and bank fund balances, track monthly positions, and provide timely updates to senior trading management.
2. Leverage your expertise in the commodities sector to design and execute commodity arbitrage strategies
3. Identify and evaluate promising market opportunities to support investment decisions.
4. Manage arbitrage trading activities for futures contracts on agricultural and metal futures across both onshore and offshore venues.
5. Gather and analyze market data, monitor trends within your sector, conduct in-depth research, and prepare detailed reports.

Requirements:

1. 5-7 years in futures or securities finance, with a proven track record in commodities arbitrage trading and profit & loss management in the Asia Pacific region.
2. Bachelors degree or higher in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related disciplines.
3. Deep understanding of market dynamics, strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills, along with effective communication and execution capabilities.
4. Proactive approach, accountability, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work well within a team.
5. Ability to adapt to various work settings and handle stress effectively.
