Introduction:

Factory Manager (Textile Mill) Location: Senai, Johor, Malaysia Global leader in textile and apparel manufacturing and supply chain management, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Factory Manager to lead operations at their integrated Textile Mill in Senai, Johor, Malaysia. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of production, with a specific focus on dyeing & finishing, knitting, and printing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely output. We are looking for a results-oriented leader who can drive operational excellence, optimize production flows, and foster a high-performance culture within our manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

1. Overall Production Management: Lead, plan, organize, and control all aspects of textile manufacturing operations, including knitting, dyeing, finishing, and printing departments, to meet production targets and quality standards.
2. Dyeing & Finishing Expertise: Provide strong technical leadership and oversight for dyeing and finishing processes. Optimize recipes, ensure color accuracy, manage chemical usage efficiently, and drive continuous improvement in finishing quality and sustainability practices.
3. Knitting & Printing Oversight: Manage knitting operations for various fabric types and constructions. Oversee printing processes, ensuring design accuracy, color vibrancy, and efficient production runs.
4. Operational Excellence & Efficiency: Implement and monitor production schedules, optimize workflows, and drive lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve cost efficiency across all departments.
5. Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all production processes and finished goods meet Ghim Li's stringent quality standards and relevant industry certifications (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX, ISO). Champion adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
6. Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a large production workforce. Foster a positive and productive work environment, promote skill development, and ensure strong communication across teams.
7. Resource Management: Effectively manage raw materials, machinery, and human resources to maximize output and minimize downtime. Oversee machine maintenance schedules and ensure optimal machine performance.
8. Budget Management: Manage the factory budget, control operational costs, and identify areas for cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.
9. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify production bottlenecks, quality issues, or operational challenges and implement effective solutions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S).
10. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise effectively with Procurement, Planning, R&D, Quality Assurance, and Engineering departments to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery.
11. Reporting: Provide regular, comprehensive reports on production performance, efficiency, quality metrics, and challenges to senior management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in textile manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a Factory Manager or Senior Production Manager role within a large-scale textile mill.

Demonstrated in-depth technical expertise and hands-on experience in dyeing & finishing processes is essential. Strong understanding of knitting and printing operations is also required.

Proven track record of managing large production teams and achieving ambitious production targets.

Strong knowledge of textile machinery, processes, and relevant industry standards.

Experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma), and quality management systems.

Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin
