Introduction:

Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring the safe and effective administration of anaesthesia and monitoring of animals undergoing surgical or diagnostic procedures e.g. MRI imaging. The role involves working closely with veterinarians and other veterinary nurses to provide high standards of care for animal patients.

General anaesthesia training for nurses

General anaesthesia monitoring for patients

Oversee nurses for general anaesthesia for all patients

Attend in-patient rounds in the morning during scheduled workdays

Maintenance of machines and equipment

Stock taking of inventory

Assist/perform nursing duties such as placing catheters, preparing patients for procedures and post-operative bandaging/recover

Restraining of patients during consultations and preparation for procedures Client communication whenever necessary

Requirements:

Candidate with a degree in veterinary medicine would be preferred.

Experience in a GP veterinary clinic/hospital would be advantageous.
