Introduction:

The Role You will direct the activities of children in the centre. You are responsible for the smooth operations of the Centre, and in meeting the student enrolment targets and profit goals. You will ensure that a safe and conducive environment is provided for the children. You will ensure that children has the time and space to play, explore and discover through a quality programme based on Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines which leverages MOE’s specially designed environment and carefully chosen resources. Through the programme, children should also develop confidences, self-help skills, social skills and values such as responsibility, care and respect.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: 
Plan and implement the weekly schedule and programme(s) for KCare children in accordance with the KCare guide provided by MOE. The programme comprises Modular Activities and Free Play. 
Observe lessons being conducted in the classrooms and provide necessary feedback to Programme Staff on pedagogy and lesson delivery. 
Plan holiday field trip and ad-hoc activities. 
Plan and manage the staff scheduling, to ensure ratio of staff (including Programme Staff and Support Staff) to child is maintained at all times, including transition periods. 
Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of all furniture, furnishings, fittings, equipment and play resources provided by MOE. 
Work with the National Environment Agency (NEA) licensed caterer; Review and approve menu plans and food purchases. The Supervisor shall make and carry out contingency plans in the event the licensed caterer is unable to provide food. 
Ensure all fees payable are collected on a timely basis. 
Purchase additional materials and teaching aids designed to stimulate learning. 
Ensure that the KCare Centre Premises is clean, hygienic and well-maintained at all times. 
Ensure the safety and well being of each individual child. Observe children to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance and to evaluate progress. 
Maintain an appropriate atmosphere of safety, learning, and fun, in line with YMCA’s philosophy. 
Perform classroom-teaching duties during the absence of programme staff. 
Report to management on student enrolment, expense, manpower, training and etc. 
Prepare and submit facility budget to management for approval. 
Any other duties or projects to be assigned by the immediate superior 

Communication with MOE Kindergarten (MK), Primary School and Community 
To ensure KCare Centre activities complement the MK Programme 
To keep MK informed of all activities in a timely manner. 
To co-ordinate with the primary school and MK on the usage of the allocated outdoor area, which will be shared with the school and MK, for sand and water play, as well as gardening. 
Share results of the half-yearly parents/ guardians survey evaluation with MOE on a timely basis and take appropriate steps to refine the service in accordance to the overall intent of KCare and the feedback obtained. 
To reach out to the community and tap community resources so as to provide children with a variety of experiences for them to explore and discover through play. 
Staff Management: 
Conduct interviews and recommend hiring of staff with a disposition for interacting with young children and good communicative skills. 
Set goals and targets and appraise staff performance. 
Confer with Programme Staff regarding children behavioural or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behaviour and encouraging learning experiences. 

Child-Parent Matters: 
Ensure close communication between KCare Centre and parents; confer with parents regarding facility activities, policies, and enrolment procedures and to keep parents informed of all activities in a timely manner. 
Conduct surveys with parents/ guardians to evaluate the services provided by the KCare Centre on a half-yearly basis. 
Plan outreach activities to engage parents/guardians and families 
Counsel and discuss the student’s behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents. Build a network with parents and organise meetings and other parents learning sessions to enhance parent-centre relationship.

Requirements:

Minimum a Diploma in Early Childhood Education – Teaching (DECCE-T) 
First Aid Certified (Child First Aid Course, recognised by National First Aid Council) 
Certified “medically fit for employment” by a registered general practitioner. Any staff aged 45 years and above must undergo a chest X-ray once every there (3) years. 
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. 
PC Literate 
At least 3 years’ experience in a pre-school setting. 
Dedicated and responsible with a positive working attitude.
