Automotive Industry

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct market benchmarking of water pumps to analyze products and identify technical requirements.
2. Develop water pump designs based on customer and benchmark specifications, ensuring compliance with internal and international standards.
3. Emphasize component standardization during the design phase for new development projects.
4. Carry out necessary engineering calculations, FEA, and simulation analyses.
5. Create detailed product drawings (assembly and components) in both 2D and 3D formats in line with internal standards.
6. Prepare and maintain essential design documentation such as FMEA, design reports, ECN, BOM, and related records.
7. Manage and drive product development activities for assigned projects, including benchmarking, design, prototyping, and validation, while coordinating with internal teams and external customers and suppliers.
8. Attend customer and supplier meetings as well as vehicle fitment trials when required.
9. Participate in root cause analysis and RPA activities, providing technical inputs to support issue resolution.
10. Review and approve special release items in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
11. Support cost-reduction initiatives, evaluate technical proposals, and implement product modifications when necessary.
12. Coordinate and support component localization initiatives.
13. Explore and evaluate new technologies and product innovations relevant to the target market.
14. Ensure full compliance with Schaeffler complaint and process guidelines.
15. Capture lessons learned, share knowledge with relevant teams, and apply improvements wherever feasible.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Automobile).
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
3. Proficiency in English is required; additional Asia-Pacific languages are an advantage.
4. Solid technical expertise in water pump design for passenger and commercial vehicles.
5. Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on achieving targets.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Proficient in engineering software such as Pro/E / Creo, ANSYS, Windchill, and SAP.
8. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes including stamping, heat treatment, casting, machining, and injection molding.
