Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Introduction:
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Mechanical Manager to lead mechanical maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment, specifically in heavy industries. This role is crucial for ensuring production targets are met and operational efficiency is maintained, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong focus on preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct all mechanical maintenance operations to ensure the factory achieves production targets and adheres to planned schedules.
- Manage the mechanical maintenance section to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and adherence to maintenance plans and standards.
- Lead the planning, control, and execution of maintenance activities for machinery and equipment, ensuring continuous operational readiness.
- Manage and control spare parts inventory to ensure availability and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee the company's utility systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the quality management system to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
- Drive and participate actively in frontline maintenance, focusing on practical problem-solving and immediate issue resolution.
- Develop and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.
- Conduct on-site monitoring of operations, including occasional night shifts according to a duty roster (this is a temporary duty until maintenance staff are fully capable of self-management during off-hours/holidays).
- Lead the implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and maintenance management systems.
- Develop and enhance the skills and capabilities of subordinates through training and performance management.
- Supervise and monitor the maintenance engineering section's budget and expenditure to ensure effective financial management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong advantage if experienced in heavy industries such as Cement, Steel, Sugar, or Animal Feed, as machinery is similar.
- Proven experience in managing mechanical maintenance, including maintenance planning, predictive maintenance, spare part management, and utility system oversight.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in TPM implementation and maintenance management systems.
- Experience in managing and developing direct reports is highly valued.
