Senior Backend Engineer

Introduction:

We are looking for a highly motivated senior software engineer (who is also an LPL fan) to tackle significant engineering challenges, including designing and building the architecture of our system from the ground up, integrating it with our partners’ platforms, and building the backend support for new immersive retail experiences. This is a huge growth opportunity where you will be laying down the technical foundation of our platforms and help in shaping the culture of the engineering team.

Responsibilities:

What you’ll do:


• Develop the key backend data services, API layers, and applications in the company ecosystem

• Professional experience working with and managing big data

• Help evaluate candidates, grow the engineering team, and establish a culture of excellence

• Ownership of the product development process, from design to implementation

• Contribute and help shape strategic technology system for company’s points-based loyalty program and APIs for consumer apps

• Collaborate across the organization and determine how technology can support the business’ needs

• Help new team members grow through code review and mentoring

Requirements:

Who you are:


• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Expertise in building full-stack applications (systems configuration, data access layers, APIs, and data schemas)

• Professional experience with the following: Go, Python, Postgres/MySQL, and MongoDB

• Solid understanding of Javascript as well as an SPA framework such as React or Vue

• Professional experience setting up and managing cloud services like Aliyun and Amazon AWS

• Strong desire to assist and be helpful to others

• Mandarin fluency

• Solid written English communication skills


Bonus:

• Experience with setting up DevOps deployment, automation, and tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Github

• Professional experience designing and building customer loyalty and points-based award systems

• Experience working as a remote employee or have led people in remote settings before

• Solid experience with unit testing and automated testing

• Experience with agile processes

• Solid verbal English communication skills

• Be a massive LPL fan
