Operations Manager

Introduction:

Our client is looking for an Operations Manager in Guangzhou

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead the local Operations team to meet daily production goals and customer shipment dates.
  • Manage quality activities with key suppliers, and drive corrective action to correct customer complaints.
  • Utilize continuous improvement techniques to improve operational quality, responsiveness and cost
  • Coach and mentor salaried reports by creating an operational environment based on SQDIP and Lean manufacturing principles
  • Maintain adequate inventory accuracy by managing material receipts, shipments and facility cycle counts using an ERP system.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory variances.
  • Manage performance of Guangzhou site as cost center against budgeted finance goals
  • Champion a site safety and 5S program
  • Collaborate with Sales team to map the future state operational needs of key customers in APAC region, and lead operational activities to invest in and align local manufacturing and shipping capabilities to remain competitive in key markets

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 10 years relevant experience in a manufacturing and/or warehousing or distribution　environment
  • 5+ years experience in managerial-level supply chain leadership role
  • Experience managing a team of 5+ salaried employees
  • Familiar with ERP system
  • Experience within the chemical filtration industry is preferred
  • Strong understanding of all supply chain processes involved in a manufacture to order value stream
  • Able to effectively manage and lead a team of direct report employees
  • A self-starter capable of independently managing daily job duties
  • Has a passion for operational problem solving
  • Comfortable on a factory floor and getting hands dirty
  • Willing to work alongside warehouse/shop floor team in real-time on daily basis
