EHS Engineer

Introduction:

The primary role of the EHS Engineer is to make sure the operation of Shanghai plant is in full compliance with local environment, safety, occupation health laws and regulations. To establish and maintain the EHS system in Shanghai plant, and educate all associates and contractors or third party.

Responsibilities:

 Uphold COMPANY’s Mission Statement, Quality Policy, Values and Beliefs
 Develop, Implement and maintain EHS management system policy, procedures, work instructions, rule and regulation requirement that developed or/and implement within COMPANY. Establish & maintain EHS document system.
 Ensure associates follow and comply with EHS management system policy, procedures, work instruction as well as regulations.
 Be responsible for site environment management including but not limited to dangerous chemical, emission and solid waste management.
 Arrange and conduct EHS regular audits and track (safety audits or other related audits) to implement the standard and to boost dept & company EHS objectives completion.
 Launch new EHS programs according internal or external requirement, including: making program plan, editing procedure, arranging evaluation, document delivering, training, procedure running and checking.
 Cooperate local authorities and authorized 3rd party company audit and finish the tasks timely. Understand the updating of EHS laws and regulations and transfer the knowledge and arrange internal trainings.
 Monitor, determine and recommend a safer, better process in order to create safe work condition and action. Promptly report, correct to any unsafe action and unsafe condition present in work place.
 Work with other Managers to be responsible for site safety management to meet national/local regulations and  internal standards, including: risk assessment, contractor & supplier management, work permit, forklift standard, machinery safety and accident investigation, analysis and tracking etc.
 Responsible for maintaining ISO 45001 (previous OHSAS 18001) system and safety standardization in production. Use HSE technical to improve site medical & occupational health performance.
 Act as the liaison between DDW and three-party to effluent plant operation
 Other tasks arranged by DDW based on business development

Requirements:

College’s degree or above. Chemical engineering, occupational safety and health background preferred.
 More than 5 years EHS work experience in chemical/food industry; certified safety engineer (chemical area) is preferred.
 - ISO14001, ISO 45001 (OHSAS18001), Safety production standardization, machine safety, knowledge and experience is preferred.
 The ability on MS Office skills.
 Good communication ability to work effectively with other colleagues.
 Understand Chinese regulation on environment, safety, firefighting and health.
 Able to handle multi task at the same time and can work under pressure.
